Breaking News Arvind SmartSpaces to develop 440 acre industrial park in Ahmedabad
Arvind SmartSpaces (ASL) has announced plans to develop a significant industrial park in Ahmedabad, covering an estimated area of 440 acres. This project is strategically located on NH-47, specifically between Bavla and Bagodara. The total top-line potential revenue from this development is projected to be approximately ₹1,350 crore.
Location and Connectivity
The site of the industrial park is positioned at a tri-junction that enhances its connectivity to various key regions. On the southern side, NH-47 connects Ahmedabad with major cities in Saurashtra such as Rajkot, Bhavnagar, and Jamnagar. Meanwhile, on the northern side, it links Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar and Mehsana, extending connectivity throughout Gujarat and into Rajasthan. This strategic location not only facilitates transportation but also positions the industrial park favorably for businesses looking to access both local and regional markets.
Additionally, the proximity to significant infrastructure such as the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) and the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Region further enhances the attractiveness of this site for industrial development. The area already hosts several large industries focused on sectors like pharmaceuticals, engineering, renewables, logistics, and ancillary services.
Proposed Infrastructure Features
The proposed infrastructure for this industrial park includes several critical facilities aimed at creating a comprehensive ecosystem for industries. Key features include:
Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP): This facility will manage wastewater treatment for industries within the park.
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD): A system designed to ensure that no liquid waste is discharged from the facility into water bodies.
Labour Housing: Accommodation facilities for workers employed in the industrial park.
Executive Housing: Residential options for managerial staff or executives working in or managing operations within the park.
Weight Bridge: Infrastructure to facilitate weight measurement of vehicles transporting goods.
Logistics Zones: Designated areas within the park optimized for logistics operations.
These features are intended to create a thriving environment conducive to business operations while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Business Development Potential
Kamal Singal, Managing Director and CEO of Arvind SmartSpaces, expressed enthusiasm about diversifying their portfolio with this new industrial park. He noted that this development will augment their existing projects in Ahmedabad, which now total approximately 77 million square feet (msf). Furthermore, ASL’s cumulative new business development potential stands at over ₹3,850 crore for the current fiscal year.
Singal emphasized that given Ahmedabad’s robust economic performance, there exists a sustainable opportunity within the industrial park development market. ASL aims to continue expanding its footprint across target markets including Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad in future quarters.
